21 & 22 March 2009 - Genting Highlands Trip

Gong Gong had organised a family trip to Genting Highlands on this weekend. Everyone of us was very excited and looking forward for this trip to come. Finally, it was 21 March, Saturday morning. All of us woke up early and packed our things, After our breakfast, we were ready to depart and heading to Genting Highlands.

This was Chee Chee's first time travelling to Genting. It was a very excited and breathtaking trip. We were having full attendants including Ta Yi Yi's family from Singapore. So, the participants were Gong Gong, Poh Poh, Ta Yi's family, mummy, daddy, Chee Chee, San Yi Yi, San Yi Chang, Si Yi Yi, Si Yi Chang, Siao Yi Yi and Jiu Jiu. Can you believe that, 15 of us can make it for this wonderful trip.

We departed from Penang at 10am, so as Ta Yi Yi's from Singapore. During the journey, we played, we sang, we slept, we talked and we laughed. In between, we also had some bio-break at the resting area. We took about 4 hours to reach the bottom of Genting Highland. We met Ta Yi Chang, Ta Yi Yi, Zi Ning and Chuan Zheng there. We had our lunch at "Long Kei" restaurant. The food was delicious and all of us just cannot wait to go up to Genting for more fun.

We checked in the hotel around 3pm and unpacked our luggages. Mummy had showered for Chee Chee and trying to put her to sleep for few hours. However, as Chee Chee and mummy were too excited and unable to sleep at all. So, we decided just go for a walk with all yi yis and poh poh.

After dinner, daddy and mummy, together with all younger yi yis and yi changs, they went to watch Miriam Yong's music concert. Chee Chee was left with Poh Poh, Ta Yi Chang, Ta Yi Yi, Zi Ning and Chuan Zheng. 6 of them bought the circus tickets at 9pm. Chee Chee was so excited to see all the animals and activities. However, it was too tiring for Chee Chee to play the whole day without taking her afternoon nap.

Before the circus end, Chee Chee falled a sleep on Ta Yi Yi's arms until mummy and daddy came back from the concert. Just to emphasis that she was sleeping on Ta Yi Yi's arms (as per confirmation from Ta Yi Yi) and not Poh Poh's arms because Chee Chee is too heavy already. Ta Yi Yi carried her all the way until they found a place to sit and trasferred Chee Chee to Poh Poh while Zi Ning and Chuan Zheng wished to have a game ride. We met them at the marry-go-around area and brought Chee Chee back for a good sleep. After taking a bottle of hot milk, Chee Chee slept through the night without making any noise and move. Chee Chee was so tired but mummy sure that Chee Chee was enjoying herself for this wonderful trip.

On Sunday morning, Chee Chee woke up late at 9am. She took about an hour to get herself ready and took her breakfast. After breakfast, we went to outdoor theme park to meet Ta Yi Yi, Ta Yi Chang, Zi Ning and Chuan Zheng.

We reached the theme park at 10am and Zi Ning and Chuan Zheng were already playing in there for 2 hours. We entered the theme park and did not managed to find Ta Yi Yi they all. So we took a few rides ourselves. Mummy joined Chee Chee for marry-go-around and daddy joined Chee Chee for the flying elephants. Although Chee Chee was a bit nervous at first, but with mummy and daddy's accompany, she felt comfort and safe.

After a few rides, we met Ta Yi Yi and Zi Ning. As Chuan Zheng is a big boy now and he prefered more challenging ride, so we did not take the rides together. So, Chee Chee only joined Zi Ning for the baby's rides. However, all of us had a great fun playing together and we took a lot of nice photos together in the theme park. Gong Gong, Poh Poh, Jiu Jiu and all Yi Yis did not joined us as they don't feel llike entering the theme which is chargable for entrance fees.

We spend about 2 hours in the theme park, as we cannot stayed any longer because we would like to leave Genting at lunch time. So by 12noon, we have to leave the theme park and heading back to hotel to pack our belongings. All of us gathered in Gong Gong's room and Chee Chee was so excited and kept running in the room.

Unfortunately and accidentally, due to unstable foot steps and over-active, Chee Chee falled down and knocked on her face. Her nose was injured but luckily was just a minor scar.
Before we heading back to Penang, Ta Yi Yi heading back to Singaore and San Yi Chang heading back to KL, we had a bak kut teh lunch at the bottom of Genting. Then, it ends the 2 days 1 night trip at Genting Highland. Although, there was a minor scar on Chee Chee's face, but overall, this is a wonderful, breathtaking and memorable trip. We should make it a practise to have such gathering vacations at least once a year, preferably twice.

20 March 2009 - Happy FullMoon to Baby Grace

20 March 2009 was a special day for baby Grace. We were organising baby's Grace FullMoon celebration on this Friday. Mummy was on vacation leave to help out on this special and merry occasion. All of us woke up every early on this day, and got ourselves ready by 9am. Chee Chee was dressed nicely and was trying to help out in preparation.

The super star of this day, baby Grace was also woke up earlier. Sen Sen and Suk Suk was busy in dressing up Grace and prepared to do some traditional celebration. As old people believe, we need to cut some of Grace's hairs and dressed up with new clothes before the praying ceremony.

All of us was very excited and trying to lend a helping hand for arranging the fullmoon gifts for relatives and friends. Chee Chee also followed Suk Suk and Sen Sen to sent the fullmoon pack to our neighbours. After that, all of us was assigned with a list of friends who we like to share the joys with them. Congratulations to Suk Suk and Sen Sen !!! Happy FullMoon to baby Grace!!!
At night, we joined grandpa and grandma to a private party. It was organised by our family friends for grand-uncle Kai Guan's birthday. The party was held at grand-uncle G.E. Tan's house. Many of our family friends were attending this party and of course Gong Gong and Poh Poh were there too. We had our lovely meals and everyone was gathered in the garden for a mini hokkien concert. It was a great party to meet up all the family friends and all of us had a great night. It will be even better if baby Grace may join us.
