2 February 2010 - Tuesday

This day was daddy and mummy's big day. It was their 8th years anniversary, it was not their wedding anniversary but it was their 8th years being together. It was their "Pat Toh" 8 years anniversary. So on this day, Chee Chee, daddy and mummy had the celebration at Chilis Restaurant in Gurney.

We reached Gurney at around 7:30pm. We had ordered a lot of food and also a kid meal for Chee Chee. 3 ot us had a wonderful night together. Happy Anniversary to Daddy and Mummy!!!

30 January 2010 - Thaiputsam Day

On this day, it was Thaiputsam Holiday. As Poh Poh's house was full with crowd and Indian's stores, the traffic was really packed and unable to move. All of us were staying at Poh Poh's house and had our precious time at home.

All of us woke up early, Poh Poh had prepared a lot of food for our breakfast. It was really a great morning as the Indian temple had started their great celebration very early on this day. We can heard the music very clearly and there were several familiar Indian songs which mummy had known the song since she was a kid.

After our breakfast, we were unable to go anywhere, Poh Poh and Siao Yi Yi had prepared and instructed all of us to do the Chinese New Year cookies at home. They had ready all the ingredients and recipe. Siao Yi Yi was the main baker and all of us were helping to do the cookies. Even Chee Chee also gave a helping hands to make some almond cookies. Everyone of us were having fun and great time chatting together.

In the evening, as Auntie Four wanted to go back Butterworth, so all of us excorted her out from Poh Poh's house to some where near Penang Chinese Girls High School. Uncle Four was there to pick her up. After Auntie Four went back, we continue our walk to Uncle Chun Li's house as we wanted to follow his car to Gurney. Chuan Zheng and Ta Yi Yi would like to do some quick shopping at Gurney.

The next day morning, Chuan Zheng and Ta Yi Yi took the morning flight back to Singapore. Thaiputsam celebration ended on this day. It was over.

29 January 2010 - Pre-Thaiputsam Holiday

This Friday was the pre-Thaiputsam holiday. As the traffic nearby Poh Poh's house would be quite bad on this day, mummy had decided to work from Poh Poh's house on this day. Besides,Ta Yi Yi and Chuan Zheng would be coming to Penang on this day as well. Ta Yi Yi would like to let Chuan Zheng to experience and see how Penang Indians celebrate Thaiputsam Day.

Ta Yi Yi and Chuan Zheng reach Penang at around 1pm. We had our lunch together at Poh Poh's house. Poh Poh had prepared a lot of nice dishes to welcome Chuan Zheng and Ta Yi Yi. Chuan Zheng enjoyed the meal very much and he was also looking forward to experience the most interesting cerrmony on this night, which is coconuts breaking session.

As most of us were back at Poh Poh's house on this night, including Auntie Four, Poh Poh had prepared a steamboat dinner for all of us. Chuan Zheng would not be coming to Penang on this coming Chinese New Year reunion dinner this year, so we had the pre-Thaiputsam steamboat on this night. It was fun and memorable as well.

After the dinner, all of us got ourselves ready for the most exciting ceremony of Thaiputsam. Gong Gong and Poh Poh had ordered 100 pieces of coconuts for all of us to throw on this night. We would like Chuan Zheng to experience their throw the coconuts session and see the parade on the whole Waterfall Road. There were alot of kawadi and interesting stores selling lots of things on the road side.

We placed our 100 pieces of coconuts nicely on the good spot and waiting for the arrival of the Indian God. The throwing coconuts ceremony started at around 11pm. When the Indian God reached the area where we placed our coconuts, we heard the instruction given by the helpers, and everyone started the throwing session. Chee Chee was very excited to participate on the throwing coconuts session as well, she hold one coconut and throw gently on the floor, of course, it cannot break and Gong Gong helped Chee Chee to break it and the coconut water splashed on us. It was really fun and great experience for all of us. We all got wet but all of us enjoyed it very much. We prayed that everyone is in good health and happy.

Grandma had ordered very delicious dishes on this night. All of us had a great time together and we took some photos as well.

After the great dinner at CRC, we went home for cake cutting ceremony. Chee Chee and Grace were very excited, more excited than the birthday boy. Both of the little princesses sang the birthday song and cut the cake together with Suk Suk. Happy Birthday to Suk Suk and may all your wishes come true!!!

24 January 2010 - Sunday

We had our breakfast at Kim Gary Restaurant. After taken our breakfast, we went to Borders bookstore to buy from bedtime story books.

After shopping, we went home for some rest. In the evening, daddy decided to bring Chee Chee for some swim. Chee Chee was very happy and enjoyed the time there. It was a lovely evening.

After some exercise, we were very hungry and we had dated Siao Yi Yi and Jiu Jiu for dinner. We went to Poh Poh's house to pick them up and we went to Koyotei Japanese Restaurant for our dinner. It was  Siao Yi Yi and Jiu Jiu first time to this restaurant, but mummy and daddy were the regular customers here. The food was quite nice and the price was also reasonable.
