13 February 2010 - Chinese New Year Reunion

This day was Chinese New Year Eve. It was the most happening and fun day for the whole Chinese New Year. Early on this morning, mummy followed Poh Poh to market for the final grocessary shopping as most stores would be closed on the Chinese New Year eve until 3rd day of Chinese New Year. So we had to buy more foods to keep for these few days.

On this morning, Chee Chee and daddy also woke up early and after bath, they came to Poh Poh's house for breakfast. Chee Chee also helped Poh Poh to decorate some fruits for praying ceremony. After breakfast at Poh Poh's house, we went back home before lunch time. We would had our reunion lunch at home. Grand God Mum (Ah Ji) had prepared a lot of dishes on this day. Grand God Mum and her sister actually started the preparation since morning 3am until the next day lunch time.

There were many dishes served on this reunion lunch. All the dishes were very yummmy and there were many choices. It was Grace's first time joining the reunion lunch. All of us had a great time together.

After lunch, we had our afternoon nap at home. In the evening, we woke up and got ourselves ready for the reunion dinner at Poh Poh's house. This year, we had our reunion dinner at Poh Poh's house. Poh Poh had prepared a very delicious steamboat on this night. It was the greatest reunion dinner.

After dinner, we also had some precious moment at the tea area. Jiu Jiu took out some fireworks. Chee Chee and Grace were very excited to play and look at the fireworks. It was real fun and the Chinese New year atmosphere was really great. The neighbourhood also came out and lighted up all the decorations.

After having a great moment, at around 10pm, we started the praying ceremony. As every year tranditional trend, we followed Gong Gong, Poh Poh, Yi Yi and Jiu Jiu for the temples visit. We went to several temples and started the praying from one temple to another temple. After rounding the town and visited several temples, we reached home at 12mid nite sharp and prayed at home. We also wished Grandpa and Grandma Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fa Chai!!!

Daddy and Mummy also gave Chee Chee a big ang pao on this night and hope that Chee Chee is growing up healthy and happy!!!

The nursery would stopped school for a week. On this day, Chee Chee received the Chinese New Year candies and gift from school. She showed it to all Yi Yi and also mummy.

After fetching Chee Chee back from school, all of us stayed at Poh Poh's house and helped Poh Poh with all the pre-Chinese New Year preparation. It was the most fun and enjoyable moment. Everyone at home busy with all the decorations and arrangement.

On this night, we also had dinner at CRC restaurant with Gong Gong, Poh Poh, Grandpa, Grandma, and everyone at home. We also met some granduncles and grandaunties at the restaurant. Chee Chee received several ang pao on this night.

The Chinese New Year celebrations started from this day. There would be more celebration to come during Chinese New Year....Gong Xi Gong Xi!!!!

6 February 2010 - Saturday

On this Saturday, we woke up early and went to Poh Poh's house for breakfast. Daddy and Chee Chee took some breakfast together at Poh Poh's house and both of them had some precious time together.

After the breakfast, Auntie Four had triggered everyone of us to do some Chinese New Year shopping of junk foods and candies and she would be the sponsor. It was the best part of Chinese New Year preparation for all of us. Since mummy was a kid, Poh Poh had brought them all to the wholesales candies shop to buy all sorts of candies and goodies they like prior to Chinese New Year. So it was a trend for all us to go shopping together. Everyone of us will choose the things that we like.

Mummy also brought Chee Chee together for the junk food and candies shopping. Mummy would like to share the joy and experience with Chee Chee. So we went there together and mummy let Chee Chee select anything that she likes.

We had a great time shopping for candies and goodies. It was really fun. Everyone of us could feel the Chinese New Year atmosphere and happy mood.

4 February 2010 - Thursday

From some one, some where, some believes, saying that this day is supposed to be the Chinese New Year and it is called "Li Chun". But not sure with what stories and background, it was not Chinese New Year on this day, but it was a good day. So many people believe that it is a good day to put on the Chinese New Year decorations and also hang up the "chai".

So on this day morning, Chee Chee, Auntie Four and Jiu Jiu were helping Poh Poh on all these Chinese New Year decorations and hang up the red cloth. It was really a hot afternoon to do all this under the sun. But Jiu Jiu had completed it by himself.

On this night, after dinner, daddy and mummy had treated Grandpa, Grandma, Gong Gong, Poh Poh, Suk Suk and Sen Sen to cinema to watch a local made movie called "Tiger Woo Hoo". It was a Malaysia product and the majority of the actors and actress are actually MY FM radio DJ. This movie is related to Chinese New Year and it is a very simple movie. But as it is a fully local made movie and without any high expectation, this movie is considered funny and excellent movie which you do not compared it with the international or oversea movie. Chee Chee was having a great time and enjoying this movie in the cinema. She was quite excited to see the lion and tiger dance. All of us had a great laugh in the cinema.
