2nd Day of Chinese New Year 2008

Early in the morning of 2nd day of Chinese New Year, grandfather and grandmother had departed from Penang to Japan for an adventurous cruise journey. Therefore, we did not manage to have breakfast with them. But today, we had our breakfast with Gong Gong, Poh Poh and our special guest....... Ta Yi Ma !!! (Mummy's eldest sister). Of course with Chee Chee's cousin sister and cousin brother - Zi Ning and Chuan Zheng. It was a lovely breakfast at Liang Liang Bak Kut Teh...yummy yummy.....

After the yummy breakfast, mummy, ta yi ma and shiao yee went to Tesco and Giant to buy groceries and junk foods for that night BBQ party. At the evening time, all the foods were ready and the party began at 6:30pm. Besides celebrating Chinese New Year, we also celebrated Zi Ning's belated birthday on that night. Poh Poh had prepared lots of foods such as fried maggie mee, fried rice, jelly, BBQ foods (satay, chicken wings) and etc. All of us were very full and we all really had a great time together. It was fun and unforgettable.

After finished all the foods, we had taken lots of family photos together. All the family members were gathered this day except for Jie Fu (Mummy's brother in law). So sad that jie fu cannot joined us for this year Chinese New Year celebration. Hope he may come to Penang soon.

This night, Chee Chee slept very late as she was very exciting and playing with her cousin sister and cousin brother.

1st Day of Chinese New Year 2008

7 Feb 2008 was the 1st day of Chinese New Year. Mummy and Chee Chee woke up very early this morning and got ready by 8:30am. There was a minor incident this morning. Our house's electricity power got cut off. Luckily, it recovered in just an hour. Today was the first time Chee Chee receiving ang pao. Gong Xi Fa Chai to everyone, Gong Xi Gong Xi !!!

The first destination of the day was great grandmother's house at Ayer Itam. After visiting great grandmother, uncle and auntie, we went to Pak Yee Tong temple for praying. After that followed by visiting Gong Gong and Poh Poh (mummy's parent). This end the first session of the day.

After few hours travelling, we went back home at lunch time as we had more guests at home. Grandfather's side relatives were gathered at our house. We were having a great chat and happy moment together. Besides having gathering with relatives, we also visited some very close friends such as Dato & Datin Hng and Uncle Wong. It was a great Chinese New Year and Chee Chee had collected a lots of ang pao..... hurray !!!

Chinese New Year Eve - Reunion Dinner

It has been quite a long time mummy did not update this blog because everybody was busy during Chinese New Year. Therefore, today mummy has to back date all the blogs from Chinese New Year Eve onwards.

Let's recall what we did on Chinese New Year Eve. Chinese New Year Eve was on 6 Feb 2008. Mummy and daddy were not working on this day. God-grandmother had spend one whole day and night to prepare the reunion lunch. We had lunch at home with grandpa, grandma, daddy, mummy, uncle, auntie and Chee Chee. It was a heavy and delicious lunch. After lunch, Chee Chee had a nap because she has to stay up late this night.

This year, we had our reunion dinner at Evergreen Hotel for the first time. It was a chinese+international style buffet. Chee Chee was dressed up nicely. We had the dinner from 7pm until 9pm. It was a memorable dinner.

After the dinner, we went to gong gong (mummy's father) house. As the normal tradition, we went to 5 temples in Penang Island for praying. Chee Chee slept all the way while we were rounding the Penang Island. Although Chee Chee slept all the way, but I believe she can fell the atmosphere of Chinese New Year......

Chee Chee is 3 month old today !!!

Today is 29 Jan 2008, which means Chee Chee is 3 month old now. Time really flies, Chee Chee is getting sweeter, cuter and chubbier. I can really see a big difference on her as compared to the photos when she was newly born.

There were few things happened today. Firstly, it was about Chee Chee's 3 month birthday cake. Today, Siao Yee Yee (Wei Chen) made Chee Chee a lovely cake. Although the cake looks a bit "weird" or I should say it is a special cake, but it is really touching that Siao Yee Yee took the effort to make it. Thank you so much siao yee yee, muaks muaks muaks..... Frankly speaking, the cake looks "special" but it tasted good.

Secondly, it was about the decoration that made by Jiu Jiu (Wei Keong). Jiu Jiu had actually put a special Chinese New Year deco for Chee Chee. It is much lower which Chee Chee can actually see and touch it. Jiu Jiu is really creative. Chee Chee loves to stare at the deco and smile to the "Chye Sen Yei"...Gong Xi Fa Chai....and thank you ya jiu jiu....

Thirdly, it was a big thing. Today, Chee Chee is able to flip over as per her Ah Ma (grandmother). I did not see it myself, so no photo was taken. But Ah Ma said Chee Chee had made it for the first time on her bed. It was amazing. My Chee Chee is growing up from day to day. I hope she can do it again. Chee Chee, well done and keep it up, you can do it......

Dinner buffet at G Hotel

It was a great Saturday night. Chee Chee was dressed up nicely and ready to go to Gurney Plaza for dinner with Ah Kong, Ah Ma, daddy and mummy. While we were in Gurney, we decided to have a dinner buffet at G Hotel. It was seafood buffet on that night. A friendly waitress attended to us and set up a table for us at corner which convenient for us to put Chee Chee's stroller. While Ah Kong, Ah Ma, daddy and mummy having their dinner, Chee Chee was lying on her stroller and staring at the lovely lighting in the restaurant.
Daddy and mummy, when can we come here again? hhhmmm............

Chee Chee in her new room

Today is Thaiputsam Holiday (23 Jan 2008). As my mum's place is very crowded, and we are unable to go to her house. So today is the first time Chee Chee spend her whole day in her new room. It is a very nice and sweet room. Many thanks to her Ah Ma (grandmother) for renovating Chee Chee's room. Previously, it was Chee Chee's father's study room and now converted to Chee Chee's bed room. However, as Chee Chee still does not have much toys, the room still looks empty. So I had bought some new toys to decorate Chee Chee's room.

I believe Chee Chee likes her room very much. She enjoys spending the whole day lying on her new bed and playing with her toys.

Thank you very much once again to Ah Ma... Chee Chee loves Ah Ma always......

Mummy is working from home on 21 & 22 Jan 08

It is really good to work in a multi-national company. The best part I love about working in Agilent is that I can actually work from home when I have to. This is the flexibility given to everyone and it benefits all working mothers. As 23 Jan 08 is Thaiputsam holiday and my mum is staying just opposite Indian temple, the traffic is really bad. Therefore, I applied to work from home on pre-Thaiputsam.

So these 2 days I was working at my mum's place. I am able to see what my baby does every morning in her grandmum's house. The most amazing thing i noticed was my baby is able to laugh and gurgle a lot as compared to previous week. While my sister, Wei Li taught her how to say "Gong Xi Fa Chai" and shaked her hand. She was very happy and couldn't stop laughing.

So I believe, with this look, we are able to earn a lots of ang pao in this coming Chinese New Year... hahahaha....... fat tat loh.........

One more thing I noticed within these 2 days was my baby likes to be carry by Kahya (Indonesian maid). She kept gurgling and smiling to her when she talked to her. I am very jealous about it. But nothing I can do, unless I resign and be a fulltime mother. Kahya spend the whole day playing with her and taking care of her, for sure she will likes her.

Going back to work on 10 Jan 2008

Today is the last day of my maternity leaves. I am so so so sad... Time really flies. My 2 months maternity leave is over now. From now onwards, I have to go back to my work station. The time spend together with Tze Chee will be lesser. I had promised Tze Chee that I will go home after work at 5pm sharp, hopefully I can keep the promise. These 2 months maternity leaves were very memorable and unforgetable. I hope it can never end. "Chee Chee, mummy will miss you all the time, you must behave yourself at grandma's house."

This year, we celebrated the New Year Eve and 2nd anniversary at Traders Hotel again (formerly known as Shangrila Hotel) where we held our wedding dinner 2 years ago. Besides Tze Chee, the whole family also joined us for dinner except my eldest sister and Woon Cit. We were having international buffet and Tze Chee was having a freeflow of milk...hahaha..... Tze Chee did not sleep that night during the dinner. She was excited and we were busy taking photos around. It was a wonderful night with wonderful people. Happy New Year 2008 !!!

Christmas Eve Party 2007 at TGIF

Daddy, mummy and Chee Chee went to TGIF for Christmas Eve dinner with uncle Fook Hee, auntie Elissa, uncle Chian Wei, auntie Cindy, uncle Chooi Keong, auntie Poh Sian, uncle Hun Lin and auntie Mindy. It was Chee Chee's first time to celebrate Christmas and to wear dress. Although Chee Chee slept during the dinner, but we still had a great evening together.

Chee Chee woke up when mummy and daddy finished their dinner. We took a photo under a Christmas trees in Queensbay with auntie Cindy and auntie Elissa. To mummy, it was an unforgettable Christmas Eve dinner. Merry Christmas to all......

25th November 2007 - Tze Chee's fullmoon

Tze Chee's fullmoon was held on 25th November 2007. We selected this day as her fullmoon because it was a Sunday which convenient for us to distribute her fullmoon packs. All our family members were there to help out and we had divided into 4 groups. Each group has a list of locations to go. Although we have a long list of people to visit, but with my family's help, we are able to distribute all the fullmoon packs by noon.
However, I would like to apologize to those who did not received my fullmoon packs, such as Chun Beng and Merline, it was due to communication breakdown. Sorry ya...

Overall, it was a great fullmoon day. Tze Chee had trimmed her hair in the morning and went to Gurney Plaza on that night.
